It’s lovely to meet you, I’m Holly.
I’ve always had a love of art and creating - my dad is an artist and teacher, so my childhood was filled with art, galleries and creative expression, however, I never even considered a career in art for myself. I always felt like my work was too “childish”, and I couldn’t see its value next to what I’d told myself art “should” look like. It wasn’t until I became a mum that I realised there’s an entire industry for work like mine, and I was instantly in love with the possibilities.
While living in the US, I spent all my free time drawing and developing my skills. I took online classes from other illustrators, spent hours on instagram learning from other artists, and took part in every challenge I could find. It took time, but all of that practice really helped me develop my style. It was during this time that I also discovered the world of surface design. I wanted to create beautiful things for my daughters and our home, challenge the gender stereotypes in children’s design that I was witnessing first hand, and create patterns that keep the magic of childhood alive for as long as possible.
Through all of this, I was a full time stay at home mum, and a very long way from home, so it took me a long time to get to this point - of throwing myself into my work and sharing it with the world, but I’m really excited to be here.
Now, I can be found in my Cotswold cottage, in front of a fire, with a hot coffee and my Golden Retriever, Goose, drawing inspirations from the natural world, British history, landscapes, life and heritage, and being a parent. I love creating designs for the home, which combine a cosy, classic and traditional vibe, with the wonder and awe of childhood. I love bringing stories to life about the every day and the people who quietly make life magical, with a sprinkle of fantasy and childlike imagination thrown in. And I love to create work that inspires young minds to play, create, imagine and explore, especially if I can do it while helping homes feel inviting, warm and full of love.
When I’m not drawing, I love to spend my time gardening, walking Goose, knitting, reading, laughing with friends and family, and spending as much time exploring England and Europe with my little family as I possibly can.
I’m very excited to see what the next chapter is going to bring, and I’m so grateful to have you here on this journey with me!
